Terms of renewal

The electronic signature is valid for one or three years. You could extend the validity of your signature with one year, before the end of this period.

You will receive an e-mail reminder 30, 15, 7 and 3 days before the expiration date of the signature at your contact e-mail.
Renewal shall be executed after submitting a request for renewal. After that shall be paid a renewal fee for one year, in accordance with the current Pricelist.

You should indicate in the request for renewal if there are any changes in the data entered in the signature.


If the data is the same, the signature shall be renewed by only extending its term of validity. After the renewal date, you should only enter the new term of validity of your signature on the smart card. You will receive detailed instructions how to complete this process online at your contact e-mail. If you prefer, the process could be performed in one of our offices. 

If there is a change in the data entered in the signature, it should be reissued. We will expect you in one of our offices to confirm your data and your identity and receive the new signature.


If you submit a request for renewal before the validity of your signature has expired, it will be renewed in the standard way and all its attributes will be retained.

If you submit a request after the validity of your signature has expired, the procedure will be the same as when issuing a new signature.

If you are outside Bulgaria and you cannot visit our office personally, you could send your representative. He/she should present notarized power of attorney with apostille.
